A mention in the paper!

An article in the Waverly Insider this week features Purses Galore, the shop where I am selling onesies and handbags. Page 4 includes not only three paragraphs about my items, but also a pretty good photo of some onesies and the Claire Birdie Sling bag! Check it out:

A Kiddo Tote for McKenna

I made a Kiddo Tote for my friend's daughter's birthday. This one made up a lot more quickly than Chloe's....I guess knowing what I'm aiming for as my final project is beneficial in getting the job done faster.........hmmmm........logic. (:

I'm diggin blue

These two bags were finished last week and delivered to Purses Galore. Also listed in my etsy shop for custom order. I'm really getting into blue lately, which is not at all like me. Whoa! Gettin' wild!

Oooh! Autumn colors in a big ol' tote!

Another new bag done and delivered to Purses Galore! I had Brittany pose with it so you could see how truly huge this tote is. I can't believe I'm already thinking about fall, but when I was picking out fabric for this bag, I kept reaching for plums and oranges...I'm going to use these same fabrics to make myself a regular-sized purse since I already have a tote like this for myself. How do you feel about the tie?

The Kiddo Tote

I made Chloe this tote bag to carry her blanket and other necessities to preschool. I started out one night at about 10 p.m., thinking I'd make her a simple little purse out of the heart fabric she'd picked out. I changed my mind, deciding to make a tote for practical use. Then I decided to add interfacing and lining, because if you're going to do it, do it right. Right? Next I thought, "hey, why not a pocket on the front?"...which then led to the hand-appliqued lettering....

What started out as an intended 30-minute project ended up keeping me awake and stitching till 3:30 a.m. I would have stopped, but of course I wanted it done for her to carry her clothes in to her dance recital the next day. Needless to say, I was a little bleary-eyed in the morning. (:

Pink and Polka Dot Glitz

I need to make one of these for myself...That's pretty much what I think each time I sell a bag or make one for a friend. But really, this one is made from one of my all-time favorite fabrics, so it HAS to make it to the top of my list. (:

This is Carmen posing with the bag for size reference.
Isn't she a doll?
She owns Purses Galore in Waverly, and she will be
selling my handbags and onesies in her shop.
Yay! (:

New Tinkles N Toots Etsy banner

I'm creating a new look for my Etsy store....what do you think of the new banner and avatar?

Debuting the Kathryn Tote & the Callie Bag!

Here are two of my favorite bags yet! The HUGE tote is one I made for myself, and it really is massive! If necessary, I could carry Chloe in it. The bottom bag is a variation of the same bag I've made for Claire and Dawn, but with two really long ties that create the awesome bow in the front. I'm in love with all these fabrics, and I'm waiting for some new fun ones to arrive in the mail.
Right now I'm working on 4 more pleated bags, which I've nicknamed the Claire bag, in honor of my friend who received my first one. (:
I also need to make another tote, and I'm itching to use some of the new fabric I'm waiting on. Seriously, the fabric makes me giddy. Does that mean I need more romance in my life? haha...
